 In this picture, you can see the result of triggering the labellum. This is usually done by a particular saw-fly which is trapped and must wriggle from the space above the beak (which ends up closest to the base of the neck where the sensitive spot is) under the upside-down head and past the end of the column where the waxy-looking gland is. That is where the pollen exchange takes place
