Here's an amazing pic that I took Boxing Day at The Botanic Garden, Cranbourne. A lovely sunny day, temp=23 degC. I've been trying to snap a hover fly hovering as I did 3 years ago. Today seemed to be a good chance with the air humming with busy insects. We were at The Hanging Swamp there, the dried out bed of which is covered with the Running Swamp Flower, Villarsia reniformis. I sat on the jetty there focused on the three blooms of the pic, waiting for a hover fly to land , to snap the pic on its departure. The resultant pic is about as likely as a win in Tatslotto, and I swear to you it is not a composite but a single pic. |
